Making Takoyaki たこ焼きを作ってる

熱田神宮で初詣, originally uploaded by bpittman.

This was how I spent my New Year’s. After making takoyaki and watching the countdown on TV, we went to pray and eat festival food at 2am.

Chorus Contest

Wow, that’s a long title.

So, today was one of my junior high’s chorus contest. It ran over by like an hour, but overall it was fun. Everyone did a pretty good job. But…my favorite class, which I thought would win, didn’t. It was kind of disappointing.

今日は中学校の芸術祭だった。ちょっと長かったけど、だいぶ面白かった。みんな頑張った。意外に僕の一番好きなクラスは優勝しなかった。ちょっとがっかりしたね。

So what did I do last night?

I hadn’t been “out” out in Nagoya since I moved here last month. I went out with a guy who works for the company with me. We met up with his brother so he could get some money from him at The Elephant’s Nest in Fushimi. The bar was okay, and I was enjoying myself until the drunk bald high school headmaster from Louisville turned into a stupid, belligerent drunk. I heard last night that this guy makes 80 grand a year, and I was thinking about even if you make a bunch of money, you can still be an idiot.

Then we went to a cigar bar down the street, and I found out that Brits know just as many black jokes as Americans.

And lastly, we went to a really shitty club. Steps blows, and no one should go there. Unless you really wanna hang out with Nigerians.
